Engaging Students' Parents - Ballet means Family Fun!

by Veron Shen | 16 Dec, 2009

Teaching ballet and jazz to young children can be a challenge, yet you will be surprised at how enthusiastic the kids are once they are hooked. While Ballet is an excellent form of exercise that keeps growing children active and healthy, it is also a particularly strenuous dance form that demands discipline and precision. Moreover, the course I conduct prepares the students for the ballet exam at the end of one year.

Parents play a crucial role in my courses. Recently, my students performed at Singapore Chinese Girls' School for the prestigious Genee Award Competition Gala, and Serangoon Gardens Country Club. The success of the performances was clearly possible only with the cooperation of the parents who showed up with their respective families in full support of their children. Many parents of my students have exchanged contact information and kept in touch with each other. The bonds are evident in the way they collectively support their children at public performances and do things as a group. As a result of the numerous instances they have interacted with each other, they have even enrolled their children in competitions together.
